Ahh summertime. Warm sunny days. Relaxing by the pool. Flowy dresses. And picnics where you lay out on a blanket eating beautiful red strawberries.

What a wonderful time of year. And what better way to celebrate than to crochet some never-going-bad strawberries?

Berry Bliss: Make Your Own Strawberry Keychain with This Easy Crochet Pattern

Can I be honest with y’all? I made this crochet strawberry keychain on accident…

I was working on a mini strawberry for my strawberry owl crochet pattern and this one was way too big. But hey, as Bob Ross would say, it was a happy accident, because the keychain turned out super cute!

But anyways, you can find the amigurumi crochet pattern (by raffamusadesigns) for this strawberry on her blog. She has two different sizes. The big one that I made and then the little one. I accidentally used yarn that was bigger than what she used so that’s why mine was massive.

If anyone ends up making one, I’d love to see it! Feel free to leave a comment or message me on any of my socials that are listed on the website.

Basic amigurumi crochet stitches you need to know:

SC – single crochet

MR – magic ring

INC – increase

DEC – decrease

R – round

HDC – half double crochet

DC – double crochet

TR – treble

CH – chain

You can find good tutorials of these stitches by KnotMonsters. These are the basic stitches you’ll need to do these patterns.

Crochet Supplies I recommend:

Crochet Hook Pack – I had to superglue a couple of the hooks to the handles after awhile, but it’s a cheap starting point and I like the feel of the handles.

Stitch Markers – essential for amigurumi, and for a good price.

Safety Eyes and Noses – also needed for almost all amigurumi. It comes with a little case.

Crochet Ring – not necessary, but I find them handy to keep my hands from cramping up. Double wrap it around loop to keep a tight tension on acrylic yarn.

Or, you can get all in one (except for the rings): All-In-One Crochet Pack
